Why these numbers, honestly
Every message you send to Boop costs us API time, server time, and email delivery. Free-tier users are subsidized by paying users — and that's a deliberate choice. Boop should be available to someone in a hard moment regardless of whether they can afford a subscription.
The Patron tier isn't a feature unlock. It's a real way to say "I want this thing to exist." If enough people do that, Niklas gets to keep building this instead of getting a regular job. If they don't, Boop either gets smaller or goes away. That's just the honest math.
If you have feedback on this — too expensive, too cheap, the wrong tiers — tell us. This is genuinely a first attempt.
Questions people ask
What happens after the 7-day trial?
Your card gets charged for the plan you picked. You can cancel anytime during the trial — even 5 minutes before it ends — and you won't be charged. We'll send a reminder email a day or two before the trial ends.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. One click in your account settings, or one email to support@boopmachine.com. Cancellation stops future billing; you keep access until the end of your current paid period.
Do I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?
We don't pro-rate by default — you keep your remaining time. But if you cancelled because something went wrong, or you were charged by mistake, email support and we'll sort it out. We try to be fair.
Will Boop remember me if I downgrade to Free?
Yes. Your conversations, memories, and check-ins stay with your account regardless of tier. Downgrading just changes what you can do day-to-day, not what Boop knows about you.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
What about VAT?
Prices shown are exclusive of VAT. Your final price at checkout will include applicable VAT based on your country of residence. For EU customers this is typically 19-25%.
Why isn't there a Free Forever option with unlimited messages?
Because each message has real cost — API calls, server time. We could limit Free to 3 messages and force-upgrade you, but that's not how we want to do this. 10 messages a day is enough to actually get to know Boop, and to know whether you want more.
Can I support the project without subscribing?
Yes — send an email to hello@boopmachine.com and we'll figure something out. There may also be a one-time support option here at some point.
